Thailand’s Gender Information Center is a unit in developing knowledge, supporting research, being a focal point in transmitting information technology relates on gender equality by using sex- disaggregated data base collection. |

Mandate and Functions |
1. Gender Information Technology Center |
- Define type of information for analyzing policy and indicators |
- Encourage and promote other organizations to disaggregate gender data |
- Establish information system and network |
- Publicize information |
- Analyze and publicize research data |

2. Develop Information Technology System in order to create information base for planning women implementation , for example; gender statistics in politics, education, health, labour, and Thai women’s status |

3. Promote gender equality knowledge |
- Analyze and publicize sex-disaggregated data collection, gender status, and gender equality |
- Promote information technology system for strengthening network capacity in collecting and using gender data |
- Develop information technology system for heading to gender equality policies and measures |
- Encourage and develop knowledge and learning process |

Thailand’s Gender Information Center develops information technology system for creating gender based information for developing policies, plans, and measures on gender equality. The development focuses on statistics in various aspects such as politics, health, education, labour, and current status of women by implementing in three aspects as follows: |

1) Gender Data Warehouse |
Gender Data Warehouse is a collecting system of the Office of Women’s Affairs and Family Development. This system is designed for collecting, analyzing and processing data from both internal and external organizations. The system will select data, which relates on gender equality implementation to collect in warehouse. The data base consists of 1) Gender based data system 2) Gender and women research bibliography, gender and women specialists. |
2) Women’s Status Reports and Indicators |
The reports and indicators focus on twelve international concerned issues in Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action |
3) Gender Analysis |
Gender Analysis is analyzes and compares women status indicators from the past until at present in order to predict a trend of women status and situation |

In research aspect, the Office of Women’s Affairs and Family Development develops research data system by collecting research directory and abstract which relates on gender and women issues. |

3. Information Technology |
The Office of Women’s Affairs and Family Development has established website for being a gender information center by developing database, and collecting updated gender and women’s news and information. |
